The world is changing faster than ever. It’s not just individual industries – it’s the entire world that’s changing.

Imagine the world a year or two from now. Can you see it? Most of us can’t – and that’s fine. The wave of change we’re on is almost too big to get our heads around.

In the past we thrived in a world where change was slow and predictable. Our lives were “local and linear” – our knowledge was limited to what was around us and progress was incremental.

But now we’re in a new era: global and exponential. Change is no longer linear; it’s speeding up at an incredible rate. It’s not 1 to 2 to 3 – it’s 1 to 2 to 4 to 8 and beyond.

At the heart of this change is artificial intelligence (AI) and it’s changing everything.

I’ve spent a third of my life in the Amazon ecosystem – first as a seller and now as a builder of tools for sellers. This gives me a front row seat to an unstoppable, massive transformation that’s already happening.

The Era of the Exponential Seller

This is the rise of a new kind of seller – those who think and live in exponential terms. These sellers embed AI in every part of their business and their personal lives. They love complexity, solve problems with ease and grow at a rate that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.

They know change is constant – and getting faster. Instead of just adapting they build their business to be antifragile – not just resilient to disruption but actually benefiting from it. They use AI to turn uncertainty into opportunity and thrive through every new challenge.

These sellers see data for what it really is – an incredibly valuable asset, the fuel for their exponential growth. But they don’t just collect data – they master it and use it to make decisions that keep them always one step ahead.

This sounds like a fairy tale but it’s already happening.

Take something as simple as finding information. Instead of searching through hundreds of links to answer a question, tools like Perplexity now give you instant answers. Questions that took hours to answer are now answered in seconds. This is just a small taste of how exponential technologies are changing the landscape for those who dare to use them.

Let’s take this a step further. Scaling an Amazon business has always required two things: capital and time. Capital is easy, but time is a problem. We create time by hiring people. And when we hire people we don’t just get their hours – we get their intelligence. But the more intelligence we need the higher the cost.

Here’s where it gets interesting: the cost of intelligence is going down thanks to AI. Think of all the Amazon agencies that handle listing optimisation, PPC campaigns and more. These services will be replaced by AI – sooner than most of us think.

Imagine being able to “hire” ten AI systems, each with the knowledge of a PhD in their field. What would that do to your business? Your personal life?

We set our goals based on what we think we can do. But what if overnight we could do a hundred times more than we can today? What would be possible then?

This is the exponential seller mindset – one who doesn’t just incrementally improve but redefines what’s possible by using the power of AI and data.
